“Penelope and Glen presented a thoroughly researched, thoughtful, and detailed proposal…With each development stage, Penelope and Glen continually impressed the executive team at Perth Airport with their professionalism, detailed fabrication expertise, and timely delivery of milestones. Given the 24-hour activity and security requirements demanded by the airport site, this project proved particularly difficult to execute. The client-initiated several changes to the installation timeline as well as major adjustments to their site management. Penelope and Glen remained proactive throughout this process, proposing creative solutions to ensure their work was delivered efficiently and accurately. Penelope’s design sensibility coupled with Glen’s technical expertise is a unique, complimentary skillset that leads to wonderfully creative, thoughtful, and highly detailed work. They each appreciate high-level accuracy and are committed to the delivery of quality public art that maximises the project budget. They are a joy to work with and I sincerely look forward to seeing what comes next from this dynamic team.” — Elizabeth Davis. Public Art Project Manager, FORM.

REVIEWS OF FORLANO DESIGN

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT US

“Penny’s artwork drew from indigenous culture and integrated elements of her work into the building fabric. She worked closely with the client and the project team to develop a design that went beyond simply placing an object into an existing space. Her design integrated an acoustic wall, required as part of the architectural design, into the overall artwork through the use of a custom-designed perforation pattern which provided a backdrop to the sculptural elements suspended on the wall. Achieving this required collaboration between the artist, the architects, the electrical engineers… structural engineers, the artwork installers, the manufacturers of the acoustic paneling, the main contractor and the electrical subcontractor. Despite the artwork being on an irregularly shaped wall with limited access, the installation was completed with virtually no alterations on site, a testament to the successful collaborative efforts of the team.”

— John Liddiard (Snr. Assoc). Architect, Woods Bagot.

Forlano Design absolutely nailed the brief and effectively translated that through the concept design and implementation. Forlano Design's artwork is truly a masterpiece and the design reflects key elements of our work, particularly our work with Traditional Owners of the land.
